Bienvenida! to our new intern, Ali.
As FN Research welcomes Ali McClean to the team for an internship, we sat down with her to find out all about what she’s studying, what she’s excited to learn, and why she thinks tea will be fuelling her summer…
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m currently studying International Business with Spanish at Queen’s University Belfast. I’ve always been interested in how businesses work behind the scenes and how strategy shapes success, and getting to explore that in two languages is an added bonus!
What made you choose FN Research for your internship?
I wanted to join a team where I’d really learn, not just shadow. I was drawn to FN Research because it has such a strong reputation for high-quality work, but also because of the personable, values-driven culture. That really shone through in my first meeting as I instantly felt welcomed.
What are you most looking forward to during your time here?
I’m excited to see how research is actually applied to client problems and how insights become decisions. And, being honest, I’m looking forward to working in a team that clearly enjoys what they do.
Okay so for the important stuff. Tea or coffee?
Definitely tea. Probably about five cups a day if I’m being truthful.
What’s your dream job after uni?
Something that mixes people, ideas, and strategy – maybe research, maybe brand development, maybe consultancy. I want to keep my options open and soak up everything I can right now.
And finally, how would you describe your first impressions of FN Research?
Friendly, smart, and down to earth. The values of being personable and adding real value to clients really stand out; it’s not just something they say, it’s something they live. I feel really lucky to be part of the team this summer.
We are delighted to have you onboard Ali!
